It was a busy week at Indians Prospect Insider, with continued updates from the Instructional League in Arizona, more recaps of a tremendous minor league season, and breaking down the firing of Manny Acta. As always, IPI has you covered for all your Indians needs, both minor and major (league).

Here are all the pieces that went up on IPI over the past week:

Subscription Pieces

9/22: Jim Pete covers another day in the Instructional League, highlighted by the Francisco Lindor-Dorssys Paulino pseudo-competition that will take place almost daily. Around The Farm: Instructs September 21

9/23: Jim Pete looks at the toolsy players the Indians rolled out in Instructs, including Paulino, Nelson Rodriguez, and D'Vone McClure. Around The Farm: Instructs September 22

9/24: Tony Lastoria sits down with Indians Assistant Director of Player Development Carter Hawkins to talk about the Lake County Captains' amazing season. Specifically, they focus on Francisco Lindor's impressive first full season, Jose Ramirez's impact, Elvis Araujo's progress, the Sabour-tooth Tiger himself, Jerrud Sabourin, and more. Lake County Insider: 2012 season review

9/25: Tony Lastoria covers Elvis Araujo's strong outing at the Instructional League, as well as Jose Ramirez's continued hot streak, Cody Anderson's continued development, and more. Around The Farm: Instructs September 24th

9/28: Steve Orbanek looks at a disappointing day at the Parallel League for the Indians, with only Anthony Gallas and Jeff Johnson as bright spots for the Tribe. Around The Farm: Instructs September 27th

Notebooks

9/23: In his weekly Indians notebook, Tribe Happenings, Tony Lastoria discusses the end of the Matt LaPorta era, the lack of faith Indians fans have in the front office, and how hiring Terry Francona would be a great jump-start for the organization. Tribe Happenings: LaPorta's days are numbered

9/26: In his weekly Indians notebook, Corner of Carnegie and Ontario, Jim Pete gives us his best-case and worst-case scenario for each position on the 2013 Indians. Corner of Carnegie and Ontario: It was the best of times...

Second Thoughts

9/22: Jim Berdysz recaps an Indians game filled with runners left on base, few extra base hits, and Justin Masterson earning his 15th loss on the season. Basically the same old story it's been all season. Second Thoughts: Game #151 - Royals 6, Indians 3

9/23: Jim Berdysz analyzes another Ubaldo Jimenez loss, the offense being stymied by another left-handed starter, and the same old culprits (RISP, 1st inning woes) sinking the Indians once again. Second Thoughts: Game #152 - Royals 5, Indians 3

9/24: Steve Orbanek takes a look at the Carlos Santana-led 15-run outburst that guaranteed the Indians would not have a 100-loss season. It's not much, but it's something. Second Thoughts: Game #153 - Indians 15, Royals 4

9/25: Adam McGavin recaps a heartbreaker for the Tribe, as Adam Dunn's two home runs did in the Indians. He also breaks down a Russ Canzler-paced offense and shades of brilliance from Zach McAllister. Second Thoughts: Game #154 - Indians 4, White Sox 5

9/26: Steve Orbanek breaks down how Russ Canzler, Corey Kluber, and Vinnie Pestano played the role of spoiler and defeated left-handed starter Francisco Liriano and the White Sox. Second Thoughts: Game #155 - Indians 4, White Sox 3

9/27: Adam McGavin analyzes the Indians' win in their final home game of the year on the wings of 12 walks and 4.2 shutdown innings from the Bullpen Mafia. Second Thoughts: Game #156 - Indians 6, White Sox 4

Others

9/24: Steve Orbanek looks Then & Now at Hector Rondon, the most promising of the Indians' trio of Latin American pitching prospects (over Kelvin De La Cruz and Jeanmar Gomez) whose career was derailed by numerous elbow injuries. Then & Now: Hector Rondon

9/27: Jeff Ellis gives us part two of his series comparing the Indians' and the Reds' pitching staffs in terms of how each player was projected by Baseball America and actual performance. A red-hot debate: A comparison of Indians and Reds pitchers

9/27: Tony Lastoria breaks the news to IPI Nation that the Indians have fired Manny Acta and installed Sandy Alomar Jr. as interim manager. Indians fire Manny Acta

9/28: Jim Pete opines that the firing of Manny Acta - while retaining GM Chris Antonetti and President Mark Shapiro - is simply keeping the Indians on a road to nowhere. "Manny's not the only one to blame..."

9/29: Steve Orbanek moves from surprise to anger with the firing of Manny Acta and asks the question, Is there really a better option than Manny Acta?

Radio Shows

9/22: Cleveland Sports Insiders with Jim Pete and Steve Orbanek discuss which Cleveland team will win a championship first, along with Browns-Bills, the state of the NBA's Central Division with Derrick Rose still on the mend, and who the Indians are going to keep in the starting rotation. Cleveland Sports Insiders: 9/22/2012

9/25: Smoke Signals with Tony Lastoria and Jim Pete tie up loose ends on numerous topics in their second-to-last show of the season. Smoke Signals 9/25: Rounding third edition

Friends of the Feather

9/23: Paul Cousineau of The DiaTribe writes that invoking the Oakland A's as a model for the Indians makes no sense since, by all accounts, they blew up their team and rebuilt last offseason, something the Indians cannot (or will not) do. A Lazy Sunday Nearing the End

9/24: Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer writes that Manny Acta's future remains undecided because a decision is still needed on Chris Antonetti. Granted, the situation has changed since this was written, but it is interesting to see where the organization was and what they were saying a few days before Acta's firing. Tribe's first off-season decisions will focus on Acta, front office

9/24: Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com lets his imagination run away from him and imagines what could have been for the 2012 Indians. WARNING: do not expect to feel good about the Indians going forward after seeing Castrovince's what if scenario. "Just my imagination, running away with me"

9/25: Paul Hoynes of the PD gives us what Chris Perez had to say following a win over the White Sox, including a cryptic "It will be a fun last couple of days of the season when I'm allowed to talk again." Chris Perez keeps firing on the mound, but takes an intentional pass with media

9/25: Jordan Bastian of Indians.com writes that Russ Canzler is still a work in progress but is making strides. He also notes that Vinnie Pestano is very frustrated by his recent performance. Canzler a work in progress for Indians

9/28: Sheldon Ocker of the Akron Beacon Journal writes that Indians players liked Manny Acta and are sad to see him go. He also mentions Chris Antonetti's confirmed interest in Terry Francona. Indians report: Players speak well of Manny Acta; Terry Francona on list of possible replacements

9/28: Sheldon Ocker of the ABJ briefly points out that Sandy Alomar counts Mike Hargrove as a major influence in what he is looking to do as a manager. Indians notebook: Sandy Alomar points to Mike Hargrove as big influence
