2013 Indians 14th round pick: CF Silento Sayles
In the 14th round of the 2013 Draft the Cleveland Indians select center fielder Silento Sayles from Port Gibson High School (MS).
Born: 03/28/1995 - Height: 5'9" - Weight: 185 - Bats: Right - Throws: Right
Baseball America: 457th
Jeff Ellis: Sayles' game is all about speed as his speed is the highest graded tool the Indians will draft this year. He stole 103 bases this year, a national record. He was at 96 before his final game which tied the record then stole seven in his final game. He was caught only once all year, so he is the definition of highly productive. It is his only tool of note, and the question is can he be turned into a super speed utility guy. In a perfect word his game is refined and he could be a starting shortstop. He should be signable as he is not committed to a four year school. Being from Mississippi you can expect to hear a lot of comparisons to Billy Hamilton.
